A tasty mid-week meal that is ready in under 20 minutes. Sirloin, rib-eye or rump steaks work well and the smooth and velvety texture of the creamy mushroom sauce and a dash of Madeira (sherry works well too), will produce a dish that will add an extra special ending to your day.
This recipe was a best kept secret - not any more! Loved by all the family with hot succulent strips of steak tossed with warm, roasted red onions, diced parsnips, new potatoes and baby spinach leaves, then combined in a piquant salad dressing made with Dijon mustard, red wine vinegar and honey. Delicious!
Another speedy mid-week meal that the children will love that adds an oriental touch to the dinner table. Lean lamb stir-fry strips tossed in a wok with prepared stir-fry vegetables of your choice with the addition of a quick teriyaki sauce made with Teriyaki marinade, light brown sugar, lime juice and five-spice powder.
Autumn lamb chops, seasoned with a combination of crushed black peppercorns, dried thyme and salt, then pan-fried with a little oil and served with caramelised onions, hot beef stock, redcurrant jelly and a knob of butter whisked in just before serving with lashings of hot mash and seasonal vegetables. A great recipe for an informal supper.
