Ingredients

  • 450g lean beef mince
  • 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons English mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • For the Barbecue Relish:

  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 50g mushrooms, sliced
  • ½ apple, cored and grated
  • 300ml water
  • 5 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoon English mustard

Method

  1. To make the barbecue relish heat oil in a pan and cook the onion and mushrooms, for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the apple, water, tomato ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and the English mustard. Cook for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
  2. Meanwhile make the burgers. In a bowl mix together the minced beef with the tomato ketchup, English mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Season and mix well. Divide into 4 and shape into burgers. Cook on a preheated grill or barbecue for 4-6 minutes per side.
  3. Serve in sesame burger buns with the barbecue relish, lettuce and corn on the cob.
