Mother's Day Recipes
Here at Simply, we are aware that Mother’s day may be a little different for some of us this year with self-isolating or social distancing, so we’ve been thinking of some alternative ways to cheer mum up, even if you can’t be with her. You could send her a slideshow of your favourite pictures, write her a funny poem, or even watch a film together via FaceTime or Skype!
If you are lucky enough to be with your mum on Mother's Day, why not treat her to a delicious home cooked meal to show her how much you care. To give you a bit of inspiration, we've put together a collection of our favourite mother approved recipes.
Mother's day brunch with a twist
Treat your mum to a well-deserved and filling brunch this year with a tasty keema hash. You can prepare the keema base the night before for a hassle free brunch dish. Add in some potatoes, tomatoes, green onions and top with an egg cooked to your mum’s preference.
Get the kids cooking
Want to get the kids involved? Turn Mother’s Day dinner into an activity the whole family can participate in. Our spiced beef and coriander koftas are a quick and easy dish that even the children can help prepare. These delicious and versatile koftas can be served with a side of your choice, however, we recommend to plate them on a bed of mixed tabbouleh salad and a healthy side of hommous.
Light, tasty Mother's Day lunch options
For a lighter Sunday lunch option, spoil your mum with our Thai Beef Noodle salad. This fresh and zingy steak salad can be made using either rump or fillet steak depending on your preference. For a bit of extra help in the kitchen, make sure to check out our helpful pan frying guide for all of our top tips on cooking the perfect steak.
Mother's day roast
Go all out this year and cook up a Sunday roast for mum. Whether you’re after a lamb mini roast that serves 3-4 people or a citrus sesame roast beef that will serve the entire family, we’ve got a roast recipe that will surely show your mother how special she really is.
